Day 1: London to Cape Town
Fly overnight from the UK to Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your family hire car and drive approx. 20 mins into the city, heading to The Three Boutique where you will spend 4 nights in interconnecting rooms. Old and new meet in perfect harmony at The Three Boutique Hotel – this beautiful National Monument building has been converted into a stylish, elegant, and affordable 18-bedroom boutique hotel in the leafy suburb of Oranjezicht, at the heart of Cape Town. Welcome to South Africa! Includes a “Stay 4 pay 3” Special.
Days 3-5: Cape Town
Three full days to explore this incredible city! We highly recommend taking one of the best coastal drives in the world along the Cape Peninsula, stopping at Boulders Beach for some penguin spotting.
We can also arrange lots of family friendly excursions and adventures. See our Cape Town guide or call us to advise what would best suit your family.
Day 6: Cape Town to Hermanus & the Whale Coast
Today you will drive 2hrs south to the Whale Coast to where your base for the next 3 nights will be – the family friendly Coot Club staying in a self-catering cottage, with breakfast baskets delivered each morning and a cafe on-site. With huge sand dunes on one side and imposing mountains over-looking a lake on the other, this is the perfect place to be amongst nature. And there’s plenty of activities to keep the family entertained, from paddle-boarding to sundowners on the dunes. Let us know what your family enjoy and we can find the perfect spots for a truly memorable family trip.
Days 7 & 8: Hermanus & the Whale Coast
Two full days to explore the Whale coast and enjoy the estate. Activities in the area include whale watching in season (June to December), diving with the great white sharks, boat tours, river cruises, horse-riding, and wine-tasting in the many vineyards of this area.
Day 9: Hermanus to the Panorama Region
Head back to Cape Town airport this morning. You will then fly directly to KMIA Kruger Airport where you will collect your new family hire car, and drive 1 hour to Sabie, one of the gateways of the incredible Panorama Region. You will spend 2 nights in a family chalet at Bohms Zeederberg Country House, a lovely owner run guesthouse with a beautiful location and relaxing atmosphere.
Day 10: Panorama Region
Full day to explore the Panorama Region and enjoy the breathtaking mountain vistas of the Blyde River Canyon!
If you’re looking for a dose of adrenaline, you could go quad biking or river rafting, or you could arrange a guided tour to enjoy as much of the local area as possible. Talk to us about various tours and activities that are available to book in the area.
Day 11: Panorama Region to the Kruger
Following one of Dawn’s sumptuous breakfasts you will drive approx 3hrs to the Timbavati region of the Kruger, heading to Kambaku Safari Lodge where you will end your family adventure with 3 nights of Big 5 safari in their family suite. In a nutshell – family friendly, intimate, nature focused and offering incredible game viewing! Settle in this afternoon with a dip in the pool.
Days 12 & 13: Safari in the Kruger
Two full days of exciting game viewing in this predator rich wilderness. Catering for families, the lodge offers child friendly game drives and walks, as well as educational games to keep those little rangers busy during their safari.
Day 14: Kruger to the UK (via Johannesburg)
Following a final morning game drive and breakfast, you will drive 3 1/2 hrs back to KMIA Kruger Airport for your short flight to Johannesburg. On arrival you will connect with your International flight back to UK.
Day 15: Home
