DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: London to Cape Town
Fly overnight from the UK to Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your hire car and drive into the city, enjoying the fantastic views of Table Mountain, heading to the Table Bowl region where you will spend 3 nights at the Parker Cottage Guesthouse.
Owner-run this beautifully renovated guesthouse is relaxed, friendly and perfectly located to explore the city.
Days 3 – 4: Cape Town
Two free days to explore this incredible city! We highly recommend taking one of the best coastal drives in the world along the Cape Peninsula and if you need help arranging excursions we have bags of ideas – 4×4 Dune adventures, motorbike sidecar tours, township excursions, helicopter flights and more. Day 5: Cape Town to Franschhoek, Winelands
Leaving the Mother City, this morning you will drive 1 hour into the stunning valleys of the Cape Winelands, heading to the village of Franschhoek to spend 3 nights at the Auberge Clermont.
Another owner-run gem on a working wine and fruit farm, this guest farm lies in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley.
Days 6-7: Franschhoek, Winelands
Two free days to explore this beautiful part of South Africa. You can spend lazy days sampling the delicious wines and enjoying the numerous award winning restaurants in the village or if you what something planned we can help with some great ideas – horse-riding, vineyard hikes, picnics. Talk to us about the different options.
Days 8: Franschhoek to The Kruger
Head back to Cape Town airport this morning, drop your hire car and fly directly to Hoedspruit Airport where you will be met and transferred into the Kruger’s Timbavati Game Reserve.
You will spend your final 3 nights on safari at Umlani Bush Camp, a comfortable, rustic back to nature camp which really highlights the magic of being on safari.
Days 9 & 10: The Kruger
Two full days of excellent game viewing in the pristine wilderness reserve. You will be able to get up close and personal to the Big 5 on game drives and walking safaris and if time allows you can even arrange a micro-light flight over the reserve.
Days 11: The Kruger to the UK (via Johannesburg)
Following a final morning game drive and sumptuous breakfast you will be transferred back to Hoedspruit Airport for your short flight to Johannesburg. On arrival you will connect with your International flight back to UK.
Day 12: Home

The selection of accommodation was exactly what we would have chosen from colonial Elephant house to coastal Lavender Manor. The fab boutique hotel in Cape Town was a great location for New Year celebrations and the trip to Franschoek and the winelands fabulous, not just the wine hic hic but the journey there and the spectacular scenery on the drive over.

From the minute we checked in at the Emirates desk to the minute we landed back in the UK, everything was perfect. Our accommodation was WOW, our transfer drivers and trips were WOW. I don’t want to share where we stayed because they were so special and if we want to go back, I don’t want to find them unavailable!!!

We can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had. The small boutique guest houses were all amazing and certainly gave us a real flavour of the country. We drove to Cape Town where our lovely hotel was a perfect base to explore this beautiful place and beaches along with all the sights.

We loved the safari in Zambia. Such brilliant, friendly guides. The diving at Thonga was another favourite because of the colours and variety of sea life. All in all, it was a great fun, exciting, informative and relaxing holiday.

We just wanted to say thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. We had such an amazing 10 days and everything went just as planned. We would highly recommend James to our friends and the order that we visited each place was perfect. We were lucky in Cape Town as one of the days was warm and sunny so we were able to get up to Table Mountain before we left for Hermanus. We also braved great white shark cage diving and saw plenty of whales on our lovely walk along the Hermanus coastal path.
