Day 1: UK to Windhoek
Fly overnight from the UK to Windhoek (via Johannesburg)
Day 2: Windhoek
On arrival into Windhoek you will collect your hire car and head out of the city to the Elegant Farmstead where you will spend one night. If your feeling energetic you could head out on one of the farms hiking trails or game drives for your first chance to spot wildlife or relax by the pool or in the gardens.
Day 3: Windhoek to Damaraland
This morning you will head to the ancient lands of Damaraland where you will be staying for 2 nights at Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp. This afternoon you could head out to see the ancient rock cravings which date back to between 2,000 and 10,000 years ago. Or visit the Damara Living Museum looking into the heritage of this land, the people and way of life in Damaraland. Want to upgrade your Damaraland stay – ask us for the best options. Day 4: Damaraland
Today included in your stay is a scenic nature drive into the Huab River Valley. Head out to explore this unworldly area with a knowledgeable guide. Be shown unique geological formations, and track wildlife with the possibility of sight the shy Desert Elephant or Rhino. This evening enjoy your private deck taking in the vast arid landscape as the sun sets and the spectacular show of glittering stars appear. Day 5: Damaraland to Etosha National Park
Today you will enjoy a scenic drive to the fantastic area of Etosha National Park where you will stay for 2 nights at Etosha Aoba Lodge. This afternoon you can head into the park on a self-drive safari or enjoy an afternoon relaxing in the camp. The trees around the unfenced camp tempting smaller game and birds into the shade from the afternoon sun, making this the perfect place to relax and let the wildlife come to you.
Day 6: Etosha National Park
A day of safari – either self-drive or add guided game drives or bush walks (payable locally) to maximise your wildlife viewing opportunities and learn more about the flora & fauna. Want more time at Etosha or want to start in the West and travel through the Park to the east – contact us for your own personalised plan.
Day 7: Etosha National Park to Rundu
After a final game drive, this morning you will continue north to the Hakusembe River Lodge on the banks of the Cubango River on the border with Angola where you will be staying for 1 night. This afternoon relax by the riverbank and enjoy the lush gardens of the lodge. You could choose to add a sunset cruise onto your stay, gently boating up the river your guide will point out bird species other wildlife and flora along the river. And take a peak at Angola whilst you’re there!
Day 8: Rundu to Mahango Game Reserve
Today you will head further along the Caprivi Strip to Divava Okavango Lodge & Spa near Mahango Game Reserve where you will spend 2 nights on the banks of the Okavango River surrounded by riverine forest. This afternoon you could enjoy a boat safari on the Okavango River and its surroundings – great for birding as well as spotting crocs and hippos. You’ll finish at Popa Falls to watch the sun set with refreshments in hand! include fishing, sundower cruises, mokoro trips, boat safaris and even island dinners. The lodge also offers village visits and game drives into Mahango National Park and the buffalo core area of Bwabwata National Park.
Day 9: Mahango Game Reserve
Have today at leisure to explore this area. We recommend a safari in Mahango Game Reserve for a chance to spot elephants, buffalo, lion & leopard. Other activtities include fishing, mokoro trips, boat safaris, village visits and island dinners. Add an Island Dinner, next to Popa Falls as sun sets, for an unforgettable evening in this stunning setting.
Day 10: Mahango Game Reserve to Chobe National Park
This morning you will continue on your journey along the Caprivi Strip to the border where you will leave Namibia behind as you head into Botswana’s Chobe National Park where you will be staying for 2 nights at River View Lodge set in beautiful gardens on the banks of the Lower Chobe River.
Day 11: Chobe National Park
Enjoy a full day to explore Chobe National Park which has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa and is home to a spectacular elephant population and many other animals including lion, leopard, giraffe, buffalo and hippopotamus. Head on an early morning game drive or a boat safari along Chobe River for an amazing wildlife experience. Want to slow the pace down, ask us to lengthen your stays or remove stops. Day 12: Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls
This morning you will cross the border into Zimbabwe. On arrival to Victoria Falls you will head to Bayete Guest Lodge, a fantastic owner-run lodge set in tropical gardens, where you will be spending the next 2 nights. Day 13: Victoria Falls
Have a full day to explore the incredible area. Why not try microlight flights, hikes, rhino encounters, canoe safaris, helicopter rides or white-water rafting! Need help deciding what to do? This afternoon head out on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, witness the beauty of the Zimbabwe sunset with a sundowner, a perfect way to end your time in Africa.
Day 14: Victoria Falls to UK
After a final morning enjoying Victoria Falls you will then drive back to Victoria Falls where you will return your hire car and head to the airport to check in for your flight back to the UK. (Via Johannesburg)
