Located in the Chobe Forest Reserve, in the much quieter western region of Chobe, Muchenje Safari Lodge not only benefits from its stunning location but it also receives much less traffic which makes for a more exclusive safari, the wildlife is excellent in this region and sitting just outside the main park there is the added bonus of walking safaris and night drives which really enhance your Chobe safari experience.

The lodge is designed to take full advantage of the views with wonderful decks complete with fire-pit, swimming pool, bar & lounge and 11 safari rooms that all face the Chobe River. Each of the thatched safari bungalows is very traditional in style, cosy and complete with a private shady veranda and compact en-suite bathrooms with showers. For families there is a wonderful duplex family room with a loft bedroom for the children and a full bathroom that features a bath with views over the Chobe River!

With its large elephant & buffalo herds, numerous predators and great diversity of plains game, the safari activities at Muchenje focus on open 4×4 game drives and boat safaris on the Chobe River with the added bonus of bush walking safaris and night game drives to show off the local night life!

Catering for those young rangers, Muchenje has also launched some new family safaris which include bushcraft courses to test those survival skills, junior ranger training where you learn to track animals and a “make an African friend” excursion where the children visit the local village school.
