Located on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River in the Chiawa Game Management Area, Kanyemba Lodge consists of 6 individual stone & thatch chalets and 1 family house with 3 suites, all with prime views of the river from their private decks.  Central areas include a relaxed restaurant, bar and lounge area, plus the added bonus of a swimming pool beautifully situated on the banks of the river, with built-in benches that allow a retreat from the hotter hours of the day – a great spot for a G&T whilst watching the elephants on the opposite bank!

Not for the faint hearted, and designed to give guests a real wilderness experience, Kanyemba Island Bushcamp is then located opposite the main lodge on Kanyemba Island, in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River. Set in a mahogany forest often utilised by elephants to cool off in the heat of the day, the camp has 4 private stilted chalets built from natural materials, wonderful open air bathrooms and spectacular views of this pristine wildlife area.

A combination of Kanyemba Lodge and Island Bushcamp really shows off the very best of the Lower Zambezi and year round Kanyemba offers a “stay 7 pay 6 special.

 The Lower Zambezi offers a feast of activities and Riccardo (an Honorary Ranger) and his expert guiding team are on hand with boat safaris, 4×4 game drives, walking safaris, fishing and thrilling canoe safaris – highly recommended! Working very closely with the local community, the majority of staff at Kanyemba are from the nearby village of Makanya and Riccardo can also arrange an authentic village visit, often combined with a sunset cruise back to the lodge!
