DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: London to Kilimanjaro
Fly overnight from the UK to Kilimanjaro (via Nairobi).

Day 2: Kilimanjaro to Tarangire National Park
On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and private 4×4 vehicle and enjoying views of Mount Kilimanjaro you will head to Tarangire National Park to start your safari adventure with 2 nights at Maramboi Tented Camp in a two bedroom family tent.

Although one of the larger tented lodges we use, it has a fantastic location overlooking the southern shores of Lake Manyara, the rooms are huge, it has a swimming pool and it’s a great location for exploring Tarangire. This afternoon we recommend a sundowner walk on the shores of Lake Manyara!

Day 3: Tarangire National Park
Full day of game driving in Tarangire National Park with your guide and private 4×4 vehicle. A beautiful park and a great start to any Tanzania safari the prime time to visit is from June onwards when the concentration of wildlife is incredible with big elephant herds and hunting resident lion.

Day 4: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Highlands
Early this morning you will drive to the northern shores of Lake Manyara National Park for a game of game viewing. This beautiful park boasts a huge amount of wildlife and is also a key area for elephants, giraffes, buffalo and of course flocks of flamingos in season. Also look out for those tree climbing lions!

Later this afternoon you will exit the park and climb the Rift Valley to the Ngorongoro Highlands where you will spend 2 nights in a family room at the Plantation Lodge, a beautiful owner-run safari retreat with stunning gardens, bags of character and a lovely pool for cooling off after a dusty game drive!

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Early this morning you will drive over the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for a day of exciting Big 5 game viewing with a picnic lunch. This incredible sunken caldera is one of the most breath-taking safari locations on the planet and resident to a huge concentration of wildlife which includes black rhino and large lion prides. After an incredible day you will return to Plantation for a dip in the pool.

Day 6: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park
Another day of jaw dropping scenery and wildlife as you head down onto the plains of the Serengeti National Park to continue your safari with 2 nights under canvas in a family tent at Kiota Camp. One of the newest tented camps in the park, this independently owned camp is fast becoming a Sundowner favourite with its authentic safari experience, personalised service and great food.  There are a huge number of camps in the Serengeti. Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Full day of game viewing in the Serengeti National Park with your guide and private 4×4 vehicle. One of the most incredible game viewing regions in Africa the Serengeti National Park has a huge concentration of resident wildlife and enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra pass through the park on the annual migration – a predators paradise! This is also the perfect location for a sunrise balloon safari over the Serengeti!

Day 8: Serengeti National Park to Zanzibar
Following a final morning game drive and breakfast in the bush you will fly by light aircraft to the stunning island of Zanzibar, heading to the southeast coast to end your adventure with 6 nights in a 3 bedroom family villa at Unguja Lodge. An owner-run gem, this small beach hotel sits on secluded beach on the southwest coast, has a lovely laid back atmosphere and very personalised service. Stay 6 pay 5 special

Days 9 to 13: Zanzibar southwest coast
Five full days to relax, enjoy the Indian Ocean and explore the island. Unguja is a pretty laid back spot with a lovely beach and pool but the team are on hand if you want to arrange some snorkeling or diving excursions. Day 14: Zanzibar to London
After a final relaxing morning on the beach you will transfer back to Zanzibar Airport for your flight back to the UK (via Nairobi).

Day 15: London
