Have a leisurely breakfast before you get back on board the Shompoo Cruise and head off further down the Mekong. Stop at Tam Ting – two caves carved out of a limestone cliff. If you’re feeling adventurous, then head up the 200 stairs to the upper cave for sweeping views of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers! Your journey continues to the village of Ban Xang Hai to learn about the process of making traditional rice whiskey, before you get back on the boat and continue to cruise on to Luang Prabang. On arrival, disembark and be transferred to Maison Dalabua where you will spend the next 3 nights. A charming boutique property that is surrounded by three UNESCO classified lily ponds; you can enjoy the rest of your day relaxing by the pool!
Day 5: Luang Prabang
You will be collected today to enjoy a Half Day Guided Luang Prabang tour! Get to the heart of this charming city, as you start with a visit to the former Royal Palace, which is now the National Museum. Then, enjoy a short walk to Wat Mai, before you continue on to Wat Sensoukarahm and then Wat Xieng Thong. If this is too many temples, you can skip one or two and visit the Loas Visitor Centre instead – here you can learn all about the unexploded mines that were left behind by American forces after the Vietnam War. Talk to us about this alternative in your plan.
Day 6: Luang Prabang
This morning you will be collected for your Kuang Si Waterfalls Full Day Tour. Head out of the city and journey through Luang Prabang’s beautiful countryside as you make your way to the Waterfalls. The stunning falls are a series of cascading turquoise pools – enjoy a swim, or hike to the top of the highest drop. This is a highlight of any Laos trip, and a special picnic lunch will be prepared so you can enjoy local dishes with a spectacular view!
Day 7: Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng

Then you will visit the National Museum and Wat Phnom, before you enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Later you’ll gain insight into Cambodia’s recent history with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum before you then drive out of the city to arrive at the Choeung Ek Killing Fields. These are tough visits, but also important and a big part of Cambodian history. After, you’ll head back to the hotel to rest.
Day 11: Phnom Penh
You will have a full day at leisure in this vibrant city. You could stay by the pool at your hotel, or take a stroll along the bustling Sisowath Quay for something to eat.
