DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: London to Cape Town
Fly overnight from the UK to Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your hire car and drive into the city, heading to the slopes of Table Mountain to spend 3 nights at Four Rosmead, where historic elegance meets boutique luxury. From May to September stay an extra night for free. This is a good time to travel for great offers – ask us about the best special offers!
Days 3 & 4: Cape Town
Two free days to explore this incredible city! Jump on the Table Mountain cable car, drive 5 minutes over the hill to the beaches of Camps Bay or wander through the city to the V&A Waterfront.

Day 5: Cape Town to Franschhoek, Winelands
Leaving Table Mountain in the rear view mirror you will drive 1 hour to the stunning Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Prefer to have a private transfer than drive – ask us to tailor this holiday to you. You will spend 3 nights at Avondrood Guesthouse, a tranquil oasis of luxury and comfort nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Franschhoek. With its welcoming atmosphere and perfect location it’s easy to see why this is a Sundowner favourite.
Days 6 & 7: Franschhoek, Winelands
Two free days to explore and indulge in the Cape Winelands. Franschhoek has numerous award winning restaurants within easy walking distance of Avondrood and the valley boasts fine vineyards as far as the eye can see! We recommend heading on the Wine Tram (& bus) and long lazy lunches with incredible vineyard views.
Day 8: Franschhoek to the Panorama Region
Head back to Cape Town airport this morning where you will fly directly to KMIA Kruger Airport where you will collect your new hire car and drive 1 hour to the gateway of the incredible Panorama Region. Let us know if you would prefer a private transfer.
You will spend 2 nights at Tanamera, a 7 room romantic forest retreat overlooking the Sabie River Gorge.
Day 9: Panorama Region
Full day to explore the Panorama Region and enjoy the breathtaking mountain vistas of the Blyde River Canyon! Alternatively spend the day relaxing at Tanamera with some lovely local hikes and spa treatments available in the comfort of your room. Prefer to skip the Panorama Region and have more time on safari – ask us about the best safari options. We have visited the Kruger numerous times.
Day 10: Panorama Region to the Kruger
Following breakfast you will drive 2.5hrs to the Sabi Sands region of the Kruger, heading to the Arathusa Safari Lodge for a 3 night stay in serious safari country. Arathusa offers 12 luxury safari suites, set by a waterhole allowing you to immerse yourself in the heart of the African bush.
The moment you arrive you may see some great wildlife at the waterhole right in front of camp but if not the afternoon game drive is sure to deliver some of those BIG animals.
Days 11 & 12: On safari in the Kruger
Two full days of big game safari. This region of Africa has some of the highest concentrations of wildlife and a stay at Arathusa includes regular sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, herds of buffalo and all the plains game.
Day 13: The Kruger to the UK (via Johannesburg)
Following a final morning game drive and breakfast you will drive 3hrs back to KMIA Kruger Airport for your short flight to Johannesburg. On arrival you will connect with your International flight back to UK.
Day 14: Home

The selection of accommodation was exactly what we would have chosen from colonial Elephant house to coastal Lavender Manor. The fab boutique hotel in Cape Town was a great location for New Year celebrations and the trip to Franschoek and the winelands fabulous, not just the wine hic hic but the journey there and the spectacular scenery on the drive over.

From the minute we checked in at the Emirates desk to the minute we landed back in the UK, everything was perfect. Our accommodation was WOW, our transfer drivers and trips were WOW. We just wanted to say thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. We had such an amazing 10 days and everything went just as planned. We would highly recommend James to our friends and the order that we visited each place was perfect. We were lucky in Cape Town as one of the days was warm and sunny so we were able to get up to Table Mountain before we left for Hermanus. We also braved great white shark cage diving and saw plenty of whales on our lovely walk along the Hermanus coastal path.
