DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: London to Cape Town
Fly overnight from the UK to Cape Town.

Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your hire car and drive into the city where you will spend your first 3 nights at Derwent House. This boutique guesthouse is located at the foot of Table Mountain and combines historic charm, with contemporary Afro-chic style. Enjoy a complimentary aperitif as you settle in to your new surroundings and enjoy a dip in the pool. Welcome to South Africa!

Days 3 & 4: Cape Town
Two free days to explore Cape Town. We highly recommend taking one of the best coastal drives in the world along the Cape Peninsula! Day 5: Cape Town to the Cape Winelands
Leaving this morning you will drive into the Cape Winelands, heading to the stunning Franschhoek Valley to spend 3 nights at the Avondrood Guesthouse where you can immerse yourself in the peaceful ambience of this authentic Victorian Cape Dutch home. Days 6 & 7: Franschhoek, Winelands
Two free days to explore and indulge in the Cape Winelands. The village of Franschhoek is all about the delicious food and wine, with numerous award-winning restaurants and wine estates on your doorstep. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on/hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley – get in touch if you would like to include this experience into your trip.

Day 8: Cape Town to Victoria Falls
This morning you will drive back to Cape Town Airport, drop off your hire car, and catch a flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival you will be transferred to Ilala Lodge to spend 2 nights. This family-run hotel is nestled in stunning gardens, and only a 5 minute walk from Victoria Falls! Dine under the stars as you enjoy al-fresco dining with the thundering Falls in the background, and the local wildlife grazing on the hotel lawns as entertainment. Welcome to Zimbabwe!

Day 9: Victoria Falls
A full day to enjoy the Falls and the many activities it has to offer. Why not try microlight flights, hikes, rhino encounters, canoe safaris, helicopter rides or white-water rafting! Ask us what we would recommend based on what you like.

Day 10: Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park
This morning you will transfer back to Victoria Falls airport to board your light aircraft to northern Hwange National Park to spend 2 nights at Deteema Springs Camp. With a fantastic mix of luxury, authenticity & remoteness and an expert team at the helm, this safari oasis is a firm Sundowner Hwange favourite! This safari includes FREE light aircraft flights into & out of Hwange National Park!

Day 11: Hwange National Park (North)
Full day to explore the northern section of Hwange National Park on guided 4×4 safaris and walking safaris. With the camp being located right opposite a permanent spring you often don’t need to leave camp for incredible Big 5 sightings right on your doorstep!

Day 12: Hwange National Park
Set off today as you game drive from north to south with a picnic lunch en route. Stopping at numerous wildlife rich waterholes along the way, you will arrive at Verney’s Camp to spend a final 2 nights. With its incredible setting and popular elephant waterhole hangout, this exclusive camp offers stunning tented accommodation perfectly complimented by a super friendly & professional team.

Day 13: Hwange National Park (South)
Full day to explore the southern region of one of the best parks in Southern Africa! With lots of cats, big elephant herds and potentially African wild dogs, enjoy expertly guided game drives, walking safaris and night drives.

Day 14: Victoria Falls to the UK
After a final game drive & breakfast in the bush you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Victoria Falls Airport & check in for your flight back to the UK.

Day 15: Home
