Day 1: UK to Siem Reap
Fly overnight from the UK to Siem Reap
Day 2: Siem Reap
On arrival you will be taken into Siem Reap where you will spend 2 nights at Lynnaya Urban River Resort, an urban oasis by the riverside. Day 3: Siem Reap
Today you will be collected for your full day tour of Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat Temple Complex. You’ll start by heading to the fascinating ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire. You’ll visit the Bayon Temple and the wonderfully overgrown Ta Prohm, also known as ‘Tomb Raider Temple’. In the late afternoon, you will head for the highlight: the magnificent Angkor Wat. You’ll return to your hotel for a well-earned evening to yourself.
Day 4: Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
Today you will take a short domestic flight to Cambodia’s capital – Phnom Penh. Here you will be staying at Villa Langka, a small hotel located within walking distance of the Independence Monument and markets. Day 5: Phnom Penh to Mondulkiri
Today you will be privately transferred to the area of Sen Mononom, you will stop at the Nokor Bachey Temple in Kampong Cham and head for some lunch in the area before continuing on your journey to your hotel. For the next 2 nights, you will be staying at Mayura Hill Resort, the perfect base for exploring Mondulkiri within a quiet area of private land. This afternoon, You will visit the Bousra Ecopark and Waterfall, where you will enjoy a zip-lining adventure through the forest and over the falls, head on a short jungle trek and take a break at the bottom of the falls.
Day 6: Mondulkiri
Today, you will visit the Elephant Valley Project – a sanctuary for elephants within a 1,500-hectare reserve where the elephants can roam. Hike out to meet a group of elephants where you can join in and help volunteers on their projects here at the reserve.
Day 7: Mondulkiri to Ratanakiri
Today you will travel to Banlung, where you will be staying for 2 nights at Terres Rouges Lodge, a great, off the beaten track hotel that is sure to be welcoming after a busy day exploring. After checking into hotel, you will head out to enjoy lunch, music and laughter in the home of a local Tampuon family, one of numerous tribal communities that populate the Rattanakiri province. After lunch, explore the village before visiting Banlung’s star attraction – Yeak Loam. An almost perfectly circular lake in the middle of the forest, created by a volcanic eruption around 700,000 years ago. Take a walk around the lake, stopping at wooden decks along the waterfront to swim and relax with local visitors.
Day 8: Ratanakiri
Today you will get to visit many of the rural tribal communities in the area. Walk around the villages to interact with the locals, trek through the forests and rice fields, experience life as it has been lived for generations and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Day 9: Ratanikiri to Kratie
Today you will head to Kratie, stopping at the 100 Pillar Pagoda – an important historical and cultural building and famous for its legend involving a princess and a crocodile. Stop for some lunch and a swim in the Mekong River where you’ll find a collection of floating bamboo platforms (season dependant). Further along the drive, you will stop in the village of Kampo to spot the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins. In Kratie, you will be staying at Rajabori Villas for 2 nights, immerse yourself in nature and discovery in this unspoiled part of old Cambodia. Day 10: Kratie
Today you will visit the area of Koh Trong – a 10-minute boat ride from Kratie. Cycle through local villages and farms, stopping at the island’s Wat, where a special activity awaits – a tree planting project initiated by a local farmer, in order to re-cultivate the once densely forested island. Day 11: Kratie to Phnom Penh
Today you will head back to Phnom Penh – stopping at the charming river town of Chhlong, a tiny village on the Mekong River with many French colonial houses, that are amongst the most beautiful in Cambodia. Stroll around the village and take a visit to the morning market. Continue along the river by ferry to Wat Hanchey Pagodas and Hanchey Bamboo Resort for lunch. Your final stop before reaching Phnom Penh will be Skun Village – where you can try some friend tarantulas! You will be staying at Villa Langka for the night, enjoy your evening exploring the city night markets at leisure.
Day 12: Phnom Penh to Koh Rong
Today you will take a short domestic flight to Shianoukville. On arrival you will be transferred by car and boat to the island of Koh Rong, where you will be staying at Sok San Beach Resort for 4 nights, set behind an idyllic white sand beach, this simple yet comfortable accommodation is the perfect end to any holiday. Days 13-15: Koh Rong
Three days to relax at your beautiful beach resort and the stunning island of Koh Rong. Explore the island or simply grab a drink and enjoy the sun!
Day 16: Koh Rong to the UK
After breakfast you will transfer to Phnom Penh where you will check in for your flights to the UK.
