Day 1: UK to Phnom Penh
Fly overnight from the UK to Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh
Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver and transferred to the White Mansion where you will be staying for 3 nights. Located in the heart of the capital close to the Mekong River, the Royal Palace, and many lovely restaurants, the friendly staff will help you organise your time spent here and offer the best local advice! Welcome to Cambodia!
Day 3: Phnom Penh
Today you will have a private guided tour of the sobering Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Housed in a former school, it was taken over by the Khmer Rouge and used as a torture centre named ‘S-21’. You will then visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. A moving, but important visit that allows you to understand Cambodia better. Later, you will board a boat for a sunset river cruise, and as the sun disappears for the day you will see the riverfront awaken and come to life.
Day 4: Phnom Penh
A full day at leisure in Cambodia’s exciting capital. If you would like to add a tour in on this day, call us on 01273 923100 to discuss what you’d like to see!
Day 5: Phnom Penh to Koh Kong
Today you will be transferred 4½ hours to Canvas & Orchids Retreat in Koh Kong where you’ll spend the next 3 nights. This incredible property sits right on the Tatai River in beautiful surroundings and offers a true slice of riverfront paradise. With the rest of the day at leisure, take a dip and soak up life on the river.
Days 6 & 7: Koh Kong
You have two full days at leisure to enjoy this beautiful riverfront lodge. Various activities and excursions are on offer during your stay. You have complimentary use of the kayaks so you can explore the nearby water network. Catch your own dinner with complimentary use of the hotel’s fishing equipment! Tours to nearby areas and sites such as the Tatai Waterfall can also be organised through the hotel. Speak to us if you’d like to organise these before you arrive!
Day 8: Koh Kong to Koh Rong Sanloem
This morning you will bid farewell to the peaceful atmosphere of the Tatai River and transfer 3 hours to Sihanoukville – there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photos on your journey! On arrival into Sihanoukville, you will then take a shared boat over to the beautiful island of Koh Rong Sanloem, where you will be staying at the Eden Beach Resort for 3 nights. Eden Beach Resort is located on the beautiful sands of Koh Rong Sanloem, right on the pristine Saracen Bay – the perfect place to kickback!
Days 9 & 10: Koh Rong Sanloem
Two full days at leisure to relax and enjoy the stunning island of Koh Rong Sanloem. If you want to get active, then you could head on a half-day snorkel boat tour, a fishing tour, hike up to the old lighthouse for a view across the whole island, or hike 40mins to Lazy Beach. Want some more time on the beach, or want to head over to Koh Rong for a couple of nights as well? Call us on 01273 923100 to talk through different options.
Day 11: Koh Rong Sanloem to Siem Reap
After a final morning on the beach, you’ll take the boat back over to Sihanoukville, where you will then transfer to the Airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver and be transferred to Viroth’s Hotel where you will be staying for 4 nights. Viroth’s Hotel is ideally located in a leafy street in the centre of Siem Reap, just steps away from the old market, shopping and entertainment district!
Day 12: Siem Reap
Today you will be collected for your full day tour of Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat Temple Complex. You’ll start by heading to the fascinating ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire. You’ll visit the Bayon Temple and the wonderfully overgrown Ta Prohm, also known as ‘Tomb Raider Temple’. In the late afternoon, you will head for the highlight: the magnificent Angkor Wat. You will then watch the sunset over this iconic national monument, watch the monks go about their evening rituals and witness the surroundings shine in the most beautiful light – a perfect Sundowner moment. You’ll return to your hotel for a well-earned evening to yourself.
Day 13: Siem Reap
A morning and afternoon at leisure to relax or explore as you wish. This evening you will be collected for your Evening Vespa Street Food Tour. Wiz through the night on the back of a Vespa, tasting a seemingly endless variety of unusual foods that offer a spectacular diversity of flavours and colours as you go…some not for the fainthearted! Choose to end the night in the centre of Siem Reap or back at your hotel – your choice! If you think you might prefer a walking street food tour of Siem Reap, then speak to a specialist about how we can alter this, and any other part of the holiday.
Day 14: Siem Reap
This morning you will be collected for your full day tour of Tonle Sap Lake – the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and officially designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Travel out to the stilted village of Kampong Phluck for the best place to see the authentic lives of the local fisherman and their families who live amongst the flooded mangrove forest. You’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch in one of the floating houses and take in the beautiful scenery dominated by the tranquillity of the lake. You’ll return to your hotel in the late afternoon for an evening at leisure. If you’d like to add in an evening excursion, a specialist will help you decide what you want to do – ‘Phare, The Cambodian Circus’ is highly recommended!
