On your arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Ranee Boutique hotel where you’ll be staying for 3 nights. Located in the heart of Kuching’s picturesque Old Town, this romantic boutique hotel has been stylishly rebuilt from two traditional 19th century shophouses with individually styled suites to reflect Sarawak’s rich colonial heritage. In the afternoon you will have a private tour of a longhouse village – visiting a traditional bamboo longhouse, home to dozens of local families.
Day 4: Bako National Park
Today you will head on a private tour of Bako National Park by boat and foot. It is one of the smallest national parks in Sarawak, yet one of the most interesting, as it contains almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo as well as proboscis monkeys, silvered langurs (leaf monkeys), long tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards. Want to spend the night in Bako NP and explore a little more? Ask us to tailor this itinerary to you.
Day 5: Kuching to Mulu
This morning you will fly from Kuching to Mulu where you will be staying for 2 nights at Mulu Marriott. Located in the lush rainforest of Borneo adjacent to Gunung Mulu National Park a UNESCO World Heritage site, the 5-star Mulu Marriott Resort and Spa features stunning views and well-appointed rooms resting on raised wooden walkways. This afternoon you will take the plank-walk to Lang Cave – the largest cave passage in the world – before exploring Deer Cave where, at dusk, thousands of bats emerge in formation. This evening you will head out on a trek to see how the jungle comes alive at night.
Day 6: Mulu

Abai Jungle Lodge provides a rustic, rural setting, deep within the interior of Sabah with an abundance of wildlife to be found right on your doorstep. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided river safari in search of pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, orangutans and more! And in the evening you’ll head out for a jungle at night guided tour for more wildlife tracking.
Days 10 & 11: Kinabatangan
Wake up early for an unmissable morning cruise on the Kinabatangan River. Watch the jungle slowly waking up in the mist and enjoy the wildlife search. Later today you will head further into the jungle to stay at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge for 2 nights with all meals included. This is a wonderful, laid back base from which to explore the Kinabatangan River and the surrounding nature trails. You will spend the next two days enjoying river safari cruises to track wildlife in the mornings and afternoons.
Day 12: Kinabatangan to Gaya Island
Today you will be transferred back to Sandakan to check-in for your flight to Kota Kinabalu.
