Arathusa Safari Lodge currently has 5 water-facing Standard Rooms, 4 water-facing Luxury Rooms and 4 bush-facing Luxury Rooms each decorated with classic wooden furniture and natural fabrics. Each thatched room has its own en-suite bathroom, which incorporates a bath and shower, as well as an outdoor ‘bush’ shower – that we love. Unwind on your private verandah while enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings or spotting wildlife. The Luxury Rooms include a private lounge and patio and each of the bush-facing rooms also has its own plunge pool and are located further away from the main lodge, affording guests the advantage of privacy. Please note that from January 2017, all Standard Rooms will be upgraded to water-facing Luxury Rooms.

All meals, including safari snacks and high tea with freshly baked cakes, are included at Arathusa. The chef makes use of fresh, local produce serving up meals with a different menu each day where you tend to have a choice of 3 main dishes. It’s a sociable affair where you will mix with other guests. It will be rare for you to dine at the same place twice. It may be in the boma over-looking the waterhole. Or in the bush surrounded by lanterns. Or around a campfire.

As comfortable and relaxing as Arathusa is, ultimately, it’s all about safari. And Hannes & Anina know this. The rangers and trackers clearly love what they do, working together brilliantly well to provide a fascinating wildlife experience with entertaining anecdotes, interesting snippets, lesser-known facts and an infectious passion and enthusiasm. Early morning and late afternoon game drives, in an open safari vehicle are included in your stay. The animals are not threatened by your presence thanks to sound conservation management policies.
