For trekking and incredible Mountain Scenery, North Luzon is home to the picturesque town of Sagada, and the mountain city of Baguio, both of which offer fantastic hiking opportunities. The stunning limestone formations of El Nido stand tall above turquoise water, the rice terraces of Banue and Batad are not to be missed, and make a trip to Bohol to meet the world’s smallest species of monkey, the Tarsier, and to behold the sight of the iconic Chocolate Hills.

Never a country to really experience the cold, the Philippines’s temperatures rarely fall below 24°C and can reach up to 35°C so no matter when you go you will always find something right for you. Even in the height of rainy season you're still likely to find an island where the sun is shining.

The dry season is between November and April. At this time the country is fully accessible, including its many stunning islands and more remote areas. It can get very hot and we would say that December, January and February are the coolest, most popular times to travel. If you would like to travel at this time, it is worth booking well in advance.

The wet season falls from May to October but the rain tends to be short tropical showers and you can still enjoy hot, sunny days with fewer crowds and lush green scenery. There is a chance of passing typhoons and if snorkelling or diving is important we would avoid June to September when the sea is rougher.

Just to let you know we had an amazing time in the Philippines! It’s difficult to choose highlights as everything was fantastic. The Philippines are beautiful, rich in history with amazing food and wonderful people. Eric (our guide) was brilliant and went above and beyond. Thank you!
