true wilderness safari in the Selous Game Reserve, the fascinating history and culture of Stone Town and a private beach on the stunning east coast of Zanzibar this 14 night Tanzania and Zanzibar adventure offers thrilling game viewing on 4×4, walking and boat safaris and then hops by light aircraft to the stunning island of Zanzibar to explore, soak up the culture and relax.
Day 1: London to Dar es Salaam
Fly overnight from the UK to Dar es Salaam (via Doha).
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to the Selous
On arrival you will be met and assisted onto your light aircraft flight to the Selous Game Reserve where you will spend 3 nights on safari at Rufiji River Camp, an authentic safari camp which is family owned by Foxes Safaris, very nature focused and commands a fantastic location overlooking the mighty Rufiji River.
Days 3 & 4: Safari in the Selous
Two full days on safari in the Selous, a reserve packed with the Big 5 and particularly good for elephants, hippo, lion and if you’re lucky the African wild dog! Day 5: Selous to Zanzibar
Following a final morning game drive and breakfast in the bush you will fly by light aircraft to the stunning island of Zanzibar, heading to the capital Stone Town where you will spend 2 nights at Zanzibar Coffee House, a charming little guesthouse in the heart of Stone Town with bags of character and yes you’ve guessed it, some pretty awesome home-grown coffee.
Day 6: Stone Town
Full day to explore the fascinating winding streets of Stone Town. We can also arrange lots of activities in and around Stone Town such as tours to Prison Island, spice tours, cooking lessons and even a ghost walking tour.
Day 7: Stone Town to south east coast, Zanzibar
This morning you will be collected and transferred to the southeast coast to end your adventure with 7 nights at Mvuvi Boutique Hotel, a charming and exclusive hotel nestled on a private, white sandy beach, Mvuvi provides guests with comfort and seclusion. Days 8 to 13: Zanzibar
Six full days to relax and enjoy! With the sea being right on your doorstep, there are a number of water activities you could have a go at – grab a stand-up paddleboard, go snorkelling, or for the thrill seeker, give kitesurfing a try. If you want to fully relax and unwind, head to the spa for a Swahili massage, take part in a yoga class over looking the sea, or grab a book and sit by one of the two pools with a refreshing, cold drink in hand. Head to Stone Town and wander through winding streets full of colour, enjoy a spice tour to taste and learn more about the fragrant spices of Zanzibar, or take a boat cruise to the Mnemba atoll! Or, you could simply grab a towel and stretch out on the beautiful beach. The true meaning of paradise!
Day 14: Zanzibar to London
After a final day relaxing on the white sand of Zanzibar you will be transferred back to Zanzibar Airport for your light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam. On arrival you will connect with your flight to the UK (via Doha).
Day 15: London
Welcome home….
This Tanzania holiday idea costs from £4,373pp and includes – International flights (price based on London), internal flights, all accommodation on a sharing basis, 3 nights full-board with game activities on safari, 2 nights B&B in Stone Town, 7 nights half-board on the beach, all park fees and all transfers.
