DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: UK to Hanoi
Fly overnight from the UK to Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi
Welcome to Vietnam! A quick transfer from the airport will take you into the capital Hanoi, where you will all be spending your first 2 nights at the Lapis Hotel, a lovely centrally located hotel with a beautiful rooftop pool. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure ready for your first family adventure tomorrow! If you can’t wait, then just talk to us and we will sort out an evening tour that’s perfect for all the family!

Days 3: Hanoi
Get ready for a fully packed family day with a private tour giving you a different perspective on life in the capital. Travelling to a village on the outskirts of the city you will paint traditional Vietnamese pottery with the locals, even getting to keep your creations when you’re finished. You will then all enjoy a luxurious lunch together at KOTO, an extremely popular Vietnamese family restaurant. From there, visit Mr Liem who paints the puppets featured in the famous water puppet shows. After a private half hour performance, you will all have a chance to learn how to move the puppets through the water as well as having a chance to paint your own. You’ll finish with a 1 hour tour around the Old Quarter on electric buggies – so much family fun!

Day 4 & 5: Halong Bay
This morning you will be transferred to the port where you will stay for 2 nights aboard a traditional Vietnamese junk: Valentine Junk – one of the smallest luxury junks on Halong Bay. Over the next two nights you will have a chance to take in some of the thousands of limestone islets from the deck of the junk and also explore up close the hidden lagoons and secret beaches with kayaks. You could also try sea fishing to catch your lunch or chat with the local children and families that live out in the bay. All meals are included. Our children loved the evening BBQ on the untouched white sandy beaches and the stars littering the sky.

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City
Watch the sunrise and enjoy breakfast overlooking the bay as the boat makes its way back to the port. From here, you will be transferred back to Hanoi International Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Here you will be spending 2 nights at Villa Song Saigon, this firm Sundowner favourite is the epitome of a stylish boutique retreat that oozes class, style and impeccable service. In the evening, you will head out on a private evening street food tour getting to try various delicacies of the south together including Com Suon Non Nuong Muoi Ot, a speciality in Ho Chi Minh City, consisting of rice and pork ribs. End your night at a local cafe enjoying live music and perhaps some dancing, dessert and drinks – depending on the age of your children!

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City
After a relaxing start make sure you fill up on breakfast this morning ready for a full private day tour exploring the city. Start your day with just over an hour transfer outside of the city, to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels where you will learn about the fascinating history of Vietnam. Our knowledgeable local guide will give you a clear understanding of the not-so-distant history that surrounds this local area. See the measures the Vietnamese went to by travelling down the many tunnels (if you’re brave enough!). You will then be taken back into the city to explore the rest of the city at leisure.

Day 8 & 9: Mekong Delta
After breakfast you will be transferred deep into the winding water network of the Delta where you will be staying for 2 nights at The Island Lodge on its own secluded island in the Mekong. Soak up the life of the river, relax and watch the world go by, take a tour to a local coconut farm or cross the river to My Tho taking bikes and exploring true Vietnam life at your own pace. Day 10: Phu Quoc Island
Transfer back to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City for a short flight to the stunning Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam’s largest island. Fringed with white sand beaches and crystal clear, turquoise waters you will have truly found paradise as soon as you arrive. You will then be transferred to Cassia Cottage to stay for 4 nights in this stunning beachfront property owner run by Mark B and his family. With an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, one of the best restaurants on the island onsite, as well as its own private secluded beach it really is a treat for the whole family.

Day 11, 12 & 13: Phu Quoc Island
You have the next three nights to enjoy paradise with some well-deserved family beach time. If you fancy getting out and about then you could visit the nearby waterpark/amusement park, take the kids go-karting, visit the Phu Quoc National Park, take a trip to the honey bee farm or book a jeep tour and explore this beautiful island further.

Day 14: Phu Quoc to UK
Enjoy your last morning in paradise by taking a final dip in the crystal blue sea and cramming in that last minute tanning before being transferred to the airport to fly back to the UK.  Call us on 01273 923100 to tweak this holiday to your family.
